The Research Group of Prof. Ge Zhang at the School of Energy and Environment, Southeast University, is now recruiting Postdocs, PhD students, and research assistants. We aim to conduct high-impact research in the field of battery regeneration and recycling to advance intelligent treatment technologies for emerging types of solid waste.

Research Focus

Our group focuses on intelligent treatment technologies for emerging solid wastes, with an emphasis on battery regeneration and recycling. The core research directions include (but are not limited to):

AI-driven battery resource extraction and regeneration

Materials design for advanced ion-sieving membranes

Positions & Requirements

Postdoctoral Scholars

  • Qualifications: A Ph.D. (or soon to be obtained) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Energy, or a related field.
  • Background: Prior research experience in one or more of electrochemistry, membrane separation, polymer, numerical modelling/FEM, catalysis, machine learning/data science is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong experimental and theoretical foundation, rigorous scientific thinking, demonstrated ability for independent research, and potential for lab management.
  • Record: Excellent written and spoken English skills, with a strong publication record including first-author paper(s) in relevant fields.
  • Personal Attributes: High enthusiasm for research, diligence, responsibility, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

PhD Students

  • Qualifications: Outstanding graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Energy, or a related field.
  • Background: Prior research experience in electrochemistry, membrane, polymer, numerical modelling, catalysis, or machine learning is a plus.
  • Skills: Solid academic foundation, strong practical skills, passion for research, and high scientific potential. Proficiency in English is required.

Research Assistants

  • Qualifications: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Energy, or a related field.
  • Background: Previous laboratory research experience is preferred.
  • Skills: Meticulous, fast learner, and a strong team player.
